West Coast Diaries - Part Thirteen: Bandon, Oregon

May 27. We drove from Florence to Bandon. And the RV park we stayed at had like, FIVE different wi-fi towers,  it was awesome. I was one happy kid. We set up camp and walked the dogs about and went out to the little town of Bandon. It was such a lovely place. We stopped in this shop with a bunch of wind chimes hanging outside on the porch and Katie bought one of those Baja Sweaters. The hippie kind. Then we poked in some more shops, a bookstore, a bakery, and then we saw the most adorable little golden retriever puppy ever.

After this we drove out to the coast, then walked a trail and went down on the beach, around the big rock formations, taking pictures and looking at a bunch of harbor seals who were flopped around on the rocks. There was a man taking pictures of them with a one-footed tri-pod thing. It was pretty weird and awesome.

After dinner, we drove back to the campground I worked on some computer stuff before we all drove out to watch the sun set over the ocean. There were so many people there with tripods to take pictures – it was incredible. Standing among the thirsty picture-takers, in the misty cloudy dusk, with the waves lapping the sand up and the shadows falling everywhere. Quiet, breathless. And then like illusive alien beings, they all vanish as soon as dusk hits the ground. Fascinating. Highly unusual.

  8. Those photos are so good. I especially like the ones of the beach, and the sunset. Small towns are always the best, and of course, wi-fi helps a lot too. :) Sounds like you had a great time!

P.s I honestly can't believe I haven't commented about your website and song yet! Basically: it is amazing. I like how your song, the lyrics, has such depth, and such a powerful message. Such a welcome relief from some of the other stuff out there!

kind words are like raindrops on the desert. they make me bloom with happiness, as absolutely cliche and cheesy as that sounds. even if it's just a simple alt+3 i will heart you for it. so, go ahead! MAKE MY DAY. literally.
