july playlist: when it rains

The other day I was playing a song for my sister and she turned to me and said, "It's amazing how songs can transport you somewhere...it's almost like every song is portal, like a key card into a hotel room. And only that particular song can get you into that particular room." (Yeah, she's brilliant.)

Portals to different rooms. That's how I feel about music. Like the Wood Between The Worlds, every song is a different puddle-entrance to a new world. This is just a little playlist of some such puddles. This is the kind of music I listen to when it's raining and the birds are still singing and the cool, cottony moisture is rolling through the forest and into the windows. My favorites are definitely Fair Weather by Other Lives and Ixchel, The Lady Rainbow by Sister Crayon.

What music have you been listening to this month? Do tell.

love,
abbie

p.s. the playlist is available here on Spotify.

  6. Your sister is indeed brilliant, it must run in the family. ;)
I love music. And lately I've been enjoying 'See You Again' by Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth, 'Tickets' by Maroon5, 'Overboard' by Manafest, and 'Good Girls' by 5 Seconds of Summer. Although, I really do enjoy classical as well.

kind words are like raindrops on the desert. they make me bloom with happiness, as absolutely cliche and cheesy as that sounds. even if it's just a simple alt+3 i will heart you for it. so, go ahead! MAKE MY DAY. literally.
